Sir Thomas Rich's Bowling Club Home

Sir Thomas Rich's Bowling Club is a unique club in as much as it is attached to a Grammar school of the same name and we believe it is the only school with a full size outdoor green in the country. It was founded in 1966 on the school's tricentenery when monies to provide a swimming pool had some surplus and staff members built the green with much assistance from the boys and parents. It is now an excellent green hosting many county games and competitions.

Tommies is a very active club participating in various friendly, social and county competitions, the emphasis is on involvement and enjoyment rather than exclusively on success. We are open to new members of all ages, we provide help and support including coaching so that they quickly become competent and involved in club activities.

Anyone who would like to try their hand at bowls is welcome to come to the club on any Monday or Friday evening between 6.30 and 7.00 pm, no equipment is required other than a pair of flat shoes or trainers and members will be on hand to show you the ropes. Whether you decide that bowls is for you or not, feel free to join us in the bar afterwards for a well earned drink!
